Bario - Malaysia In Kelabit highlands in the heart of Borneo, in the middle of nowhere (the locals say so) they have their own kind of rice - the Bario rice. It has finer grains when compared to regular rice and locals claim it also differs in taste, but I didn't notice. All the food available in Bario is produced locally, either by agriculture or taken from the jungle. Only things like beer are imported, so remote is the area.
