This is just the cleanest city I have ever seen! A great place for a stop over from Europe to Australia. The climate is very humid (just shocking!!) But its deffinatelly worth it to spend a few days. People are very friendly and if you take your time to step out of the tourist paths and dip into the culture you are just gonna love those people. But this is not really Asia. Of course it is situated in the middle of it, but to see what Asia is really like you have to make a trip to Malaysia, or Thailand. Busses take you there in a few hours ride for a couple of bucks. Go for it!

Favourite spots:
Woww... there are lots of them :-) Check out the botanic gardens and of course the ZOO!!! This is breath taking! Lions and other wild animals at night and there is not much of a fence! Don't worry they did not eat me, so why do you think they are gonna bite you? :-)

What's really great:
The really, really clean city. People don't just throw away there papers, cigarettes or whatever. By the time I left Germany I thought my Country is clean, but Boy!! it so dirty compared to Singapore. Take a closer look at the bottom the next time you walk your local city. No matter what you see there, there is nothing like this in Singapore! The city is very secure. A woman could walk naked at noon through the city park and nothing would happen (maybe somebody would help her out with some cloth :-)

Accommodations:
Check out the local Hosteling International Hostel. It is downtown and walkable from nearly every cool club.

Nightlife:
Don't go to the tourist places. Go where the locals go. Grab a taxi and they are gonna take you there. Taxis are cheap and the only way to get around at nigth. There might be a huge line up for cabs by the time a club is closing!

Restaurants:
Go for the food mals. You can eat as cheap as 4 $ and really great! Much better than in the touristy restaurants.
