No forest spirits allowed!'s by antonioagui

Muang Sing - Laos, Louangnamtha Akha people have two roads in their town. One for entering and another one for exiting. Since they live in the middle of the countryside, once a year a ceremony is performed and the gates like the on the picture are renovated. The purpose is to tell the spirits of the forest that this is a human village,inhabited by human people and spirits, and though not belonging to the Nature. So the Nature spirits know they can't get through. If by accident a human happens to touch the gate, it must be quickly reported to the chief, so that the ceremony is held again and the gate working properly
