(hardseat) Just check it here: http://www.tibetplus.com/Timetable_tibettrain.html In the past as a foreigner I paid a lot of extra money to get a seat for the 3-days bus trip from Golmud to Lhasa + train to Golmud. I would like to be in Kashgar to meet you!! really! But it won't be possible. I will do my best to visit India soon and try to get to Nepal. Easy job. But then I'm planning my next journey ... "around the world in 80 days" ... then I will need to use the train from Lhasa to Chengdu. But I don´t know yet when exactly it will be ... first I need to work hard, safe more money and plan it well ... I have only 80 days to complete the journey and it must be well planned! It's awesome to go to Tibet by train, however I am worrying about the environment? The construction of the Railway was something the Tibetan people opposed to it but it was imposed on them. The Chinese Governement admitted that the railway is a politically motivated project, as it is to consolidate its contro over Tibet. Free Tibet campainers says that in realitty those using the Railway will be contributing towards a process of irreversible dissolution of Tibet's distinc identity, and supporting China occupation. What do you think?? I was planning to take the train as it is more eco friendly than flying. I think that if people want to go to Tibet they will still go, flying or by train, but in my opinion, I would prefer to go by train as it is better for low carbon emissions, much cleaner.
