Indian Rail Advice

Perhaps there is an Indian here who can help me. What is the fastest/cheapest way to get from Delhi to Gaya (just north of Bodhgaya) or somewhere nearby? I can't workout what trains run that entire route or how much or how long they would be. I think the train would go by Varansi? Does anyone know? Also is that same journey possible via Agra? I'd be so grateful for this help. Train number 2398 Mahabodhi Express leaves from New Delhi at 14:10 and reaches Gaya Junction at 06:50... Secondly, there is Train number 2802 Purshottam Express that leaves from New Delhi at 22:25 and reaches Gaya at 13:45... and another... train number 2312 leaves from a minor railway station in Delhi "Sabzi mandi" at 06:05 and reaches Gaya at 23:36...
