Hi Guys

Check this out!!!

"China’s plans to build a road to the Everest slopes to open the area up to tourism, despite fears that Everest is already overcrowded, has caused controversy around the world".

Personaly I think it will be an environmental didaster if this plan goes ahead!

The Chinese will build this road anyway without any doubts!

One site claims: "To achieve this aim China will sadly scar irreparably one of the world's most beautiful landscapes as well as tarnishing a mountain sacred not only to Tibetans but to many people living in the Himalayan region."

I think that easier access will help the political situation and motivate environmental projects more than deter anything. I would like to see Tibet become independent too but the transition is for it to be an autonomous state of China like Bavaria is of Germany, with its own parliament, financial advantages of free trade, social rules and own laws. Like, each individual state in the USA has this right! Tibetians will be the loosers if they leave China entirely! Another website claims that this will endanger the existence of a snow-tiger and another that the 65-mile road will scar the region forever. Please, look how vast this area is!

For me, a perfectly planned INFRASTRUCTURE is important to every developing nation and should not be limited to Europe or the USA only, financial aid to all experiments and projects needed!

Consideration for the differences between us and those we meet is the first need if we are to have peace.

For some decades past there appears to be a lack of consideration for the people of Tibet.

Economics is not the only measure of the common good.

In Ireland in the past Thirty+ years we have benefitted immensely from new roads constructed with the aid of Germany through the EEC afterwards the European Union.

Road building alone does not bring peace. Bridge building between minds and hearts is also necessary

Once I was certain of everything, now I know nothing.
