Hi everybody,
thank you all for this great info!
@rangutan: I see your point, but I would prefere to go to a place which is more stable. There is so much I have not seen so far I will go down the list and start with a saver place. But Sri Lanka would for sure be a place to go in the future. Thank you for your hint. About Maldedives. I thought about it quite a while, but it does look like it is more a honey moon place and a single traveler would be pretty much alone the 2 weeks. I keep that suggestion if I meet THE one :-)
@mrscanada. Sout Korea is for sure nice. I have learned so much about places from you guys during the last few days (Now I know why some people say GLOBO is adictive! It took my breat away while reading travel logs from wojtekd or reports by jorgesanches!!)
In fact Jorge brought me to totaly new ideas. His report on island hoping on the caribean was just amazing! You can read it hear.

That one moved on top of my list. I already checked airlines and they fly for about 620 Euros to San Juan and back. Great!!
I will do a bit of GLOBOing :-) on that spot and ... boy am I excited!!!!
@downundergal Vietnam is great. That's second, third on my list. Wojtekd is just traveling through vietnam (read his travel log!! It's worth every minute you spend!).
Let's see if I can have my flight booked this week ;-)
Best regards,
Andy

You'll love San Juan. We did. I don't know if you can write about it here. I couldn't write about Guadaloupe.
Have fun. --- Mrs. Canada

Hi mrscanada,
why could you not write about Guadaloupe on GLOBOsapiens? If it is not listed you can always add it to the list.

14 days is a bit short to tour around so consider 2-3 days at an interesting airline hub and then 10 days beach/island adventure.

Andy,
that is a 180° turn - choosing the Caribbean but fine destinations too :-)
If not this time, one day also consider Sicily, Malta and Djerba, the 3 being neighbours and quite close to Germany, a nice combination and perfect for 2 weeks if Asia seems too far.

Andy,
as the advices turn around I suggest kayaking in the Broken Islands west of Vancouver Island. It's absolutely terrific.

Andy,
Bombay (Mumbai) is a perfect place to spend just under a week. (Did you read my Mumbai report?) Then book a flight to Goa. This Indian state is small enough and all sights can be seen in just over one week.
Lots of budget airlines in India http://www.dancewithshadows.com/india_budget_airline.asp
or
http://www.iloveindia.com/airlines-in-india/domestic/goair.html
We took Goair from Goa to Mumbai. Booked one day and left the next.
In March the weather is still Okay. The monsoon occurs between June and the end of September. Goa has a dry period lasting six to eight months of the year, During the two months preceding the onset of the monsoon the humidity increases dramatically, and the normally clear skies become hazy and then cloudy. So March is just right.
If I am not mistaken www.condor.com has direct flights to Goa from Germany. --- “I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” Robert Louis Stevenson

Hello everybody,
thank you all for your tips and suggestions. I was close to book a flight to Puerto Rico and go island hoping on the small antiles. That would have been great for sure, but I changed my plan and now I am going a bit more "conservative" :-) There is one place on earth which has been on my wishlist for ages now. And that is California. I never made it there, also I was considering moving there in 2002 while starting GLOBO. There are so many things I am looking forward to. The great national parks, San Francisco, the bay area, and much more. My flight is shedules for Thursday. A three weeks trip. I am very excited about it!
So... yeah, thank you all for your help.
Best regards,
Andy
