At what cost?'s by aufgehts

Venice - Italy, Veneto Venice has sold space on some of its most famous locations to billboard advertising. I know they need money but is it acceptable to denegrate a Unesco World Heritage Site? This was one of the most disappointing and saddest moments of our visit.

I saw a short note in National Geographic Traveler about this in Feb(?) and at that time the advertising was in the main square though it seems it's been moved from that area now. mistybleu - Jul, 30 2009 08:07am Jill, I thought this was just covering work happening being.
