Medusa Head, Basilica Cistern Istanbul's by aufgehts

Istanbul - Turkey, Istanbul One of two medusa heads in the Basilica Cistern. Early Christians took these off of pagan monuments and turned them upside down in the cistern to show Christianity's triumph over paganism.
