Whilst Cairns is not the prettiest cities, it sets the scene for one of the most phenomenal natural wonders of the world and that is the Great Barrier Reef. As depicted in the classic Disney film ‘Finding Nemo’ the Barrier Reef spans over 2300km and is made up of 3,000 individual reefs; making it the largest reef in the world. Many boats depart daily from Trinity Wharf; with the nearest reef around 2 hours away is a magical experience. [edit text][editors]
