Member opinion: Alcohol is not general served in Egypt so this is BYOB (Bring your own bottle) but if you are up for an evening of people watching, coupled with a cup of tea, a little shisha smoking and a game or two of dominoes or backgammon, this is the place. Located in the main intersection of town, right at the Taxi Stand/Bus Stop, locals come and go all evening and the conversation is lively. My Arabic is poor but between that and the broken English, we had a couple of rousing political conversations. I was the only woman in the Cafe, as was frequently true, but my presence didn't seem to make the men uncomfortable, and they certainly went out of their way to make me comfortable. The older men took pleasure in playing dominoes with my son, 14, and persuaded me to try shisha, to laughter all around. What a GREAT place to just hang!
