Member opinion: In present shape it was enlarged by empress Cixi. It was the place where royality took refuge from insufferable summer haet that roasted Forbidden City. Place is dominated by temples, gardens, pavilions, lakes and corridors. Also here is the most crazy idea of Cixi - the marble boat. The most famous places are - hall of Benevolence and Longevity, Buddist Fragrance Pavilion, Cloud Dispelling Hall, Temple of the sea of Windsom, Marble Boat and Dragon King Temple. You can easily spend there all day. Better avoid weekends - it is getting very crowdy. The complex is located outside the city centre - take the subway to the Woudaoukou station, then the taxi shouldn't be more than 20 yuan. Attention complex has few gates. Entrance fee 60 yuan, opening hours 8.30- 17.00
