Goiania is the capital of Goias state. Just an hour or so south of Brasilia. This city has boomed in the last decade or so and is considered one of the top 5 wealthiest cities in Brazil. The climate is unbearable at times, with humidity and hot air scorching the earth even during the peak of winter at times. Goias is an agricultural state. Nost of the residents flock to Goiania and, hence, the area could at times feel "agricultural". They tell me that there are nearly 3 girls to 1 man residing in Goiania, and if you take a trip to some of the nice spots, you'll see it's true. I am married to a girl from Goiania...enough said! Be sure to travel by plane, don't think about driving there unless you want your suspension to fall on you. The state roads are the worst in the country, with potholes sometimes the size of a car.
