Undoubtedly the highlight of Angkor Village is no other than the impressive heavenly temples of Angkor Wat. Come sunrise or sunset, the marvellous scene simply takes your breath away.
Angkor Wat was described by 19th century French explorer, Henri Mouhot as "a rival to that of Solomon and erected by some ancient MichaelAngelo..".
A must-do is to spend at least half a day here to explore the sights as featured in the Angelina Jolie's movie - Tomb Raiders where the actress was at The Ta Prohm and she picked some jasmine from a tree before the earth opened up.
Come sunset, you have to climb to the hilltop temple of Phnon Krom and be treated to a view of the temple complex and the Tonle Sap Lake.
Other sights to catch are the first Angkor capital at Roluos, the pink temple of Banteay Srei and Angkor Thom, the last capital of the empire. [edit text][editors]
