Banff travel tips

Banff HI Alpine Hostel
This was a very friendly and accomodating hostel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful for information. If you want to be right in the center of Banff, this is not the place for you! It is about 20-30min walking to the town center, which was fine for us but for some it might not be. There was a restaurant, pub (with a pool table), internet access, laundry, and a large kitchen (with pots, pans, cutlery, plates, fridge, food lockers, freezer), and luggage lockers. You can stay in a cabin, private room with bathroom or a shared room with shared bathrooms starting at $30/night. Another option would be to volunteer for 4hrs per day you are there and stay those nights for free. more

Douglas Fir Resort
This place is a good bet if you are planning on being in town for a while, as all the rooms have kitchens and fireplaces. The only drawback is that there is no A/C in the summer. more

Wild Bill's Saloon
Here you can get one the best Steak sandwiches you'll ever have. In the evenings, they have live music. more

Bumper's Inn
A good, clean affordable motel in Banff. more

Charlton's Cedar Court
Another clean, affordable hotel in Banff. more
