Krumlov is a small city in South Bohemia on the upper Vltava River. There is a place with a similar name in Moravia so this one is rather called "Český Krumlov". The place is an UNESCO heritage site (was the first in the Czech Republic to be announced) and is the spectacular sight of a medieval castle and other buildings. It was destroyed during the 30 years war with Sweden, rebuilt but then neglected by communism till the late 80's when the advantages and rewards of restoration were realised. [edit text][editors]
