Scanno is not quite in the Abruzzo National Park but the ride there from Sulmona prvides equally good scenery up a long impressive gorge.
The hotel is on the far side of the vilage from the bus but it's not a long walk and villagers are unusually friendly in giving directions. It is a delightful town with steep narrow streets and steps.
The hotel stands across a road from a gorge and provides, fine views, comfort and very good food.
Warmly recommended.
