It is claimed that this museum has the largest collection of Spanish art in France outside the Louvre. It is situated in a 17th century bishop's palace.
Fine as the collection is, it was ruined for us by a complete lack of air-conditioning in about 1994. it was a hot day and the museum was hot, clammy, oppressive and soporific.
If it's better now, please let me know and I'll be happy to rewrite this tip.
