Throughout the period of changes outlined in the Destination Guide, Kinlochleven has always had one major natural asset, access to the south side of the Mamore mountains, which stretch as far as Ben Nevis with numerous Munroes. They have suffered a degree of neglect, except for Munroe baggers, because they lie between the 4000 foot peaks to the north and the pinnacle ridge of Aonoch Eagach above the Pass of Glencoe to the south. They provide some splendid walks in their own right.
