a contrasted place

I've visited quebec a few years ago during a trip aroud the eastern part of Canada. I enjoyed the visit so I can now only recommend anybody to go there.

Quebec is an Historic but also a very modern city. The face of the old city of quebec remain mostly historic contrasting with the suburb which present the same caracteritics than any other north american urban areas. Quebec is the only North American fortified city. While wilderness is increasingly rare near the city, wild nature can be found not so far when you leave the urban area to north.

Favourite spots:
Saint lawrence river : Wonderful sunsets Vieux port : old houses and a lot of shops The citadelle The plains of abraham (sad place for a french man)

What's really great:
The warm-hearted nature of quebequers. Autumn colors in Quebec the wild life. (I saw a caribou !)

Sights:
the Château Frontenac (it's a an old hotel) Terrasse Dufferin Parliament of Quebec Plaines d'Abraham

Accommodations:
I don't remenber the name of my hotel. It was somewhere on rue Saint jean. It was fine because you can go walking to the vieux Quebec.
