Randers is Denmark's 6th biggest city, about 40km north of Aarhus. It is the main town of the Kronjylland region. (Crown Jutland). Situated on the River Gudenaa and Randers Fjord, it has been an important trading town since its founding in 1302. It used to be famous for its horse markets, but these days it is more famous for its picturesque old city centre, its museums and the Randers Regnskov - a tropical zoo housed in three giant domes.
