New spam reporting system

andreas Joined: May 02 Points: 8309 Posts: 808 Posted: 2007-12-07 16:06:00    As you know there is already a very complex spam protection system in place that has helped GLOBOsapiens to keep spam messages very low compared to what is out there on the internet. We would like to see GLOBO nearly to 100% free of spammers. We are starting off with a basic semi manual member reporting system that will support the fully automated text analysis. Each member above 500 points can report members with a click of a button inside the other members profile. That spam button (small icon with a red surrounding on a member pictogram) will show up if you go to the profile page of a member that has below 500 points and you have more or equal 500 points. Future versions will freeze that members account if more than a sepecific number of senior members reports the spammer. This is not yet available but will be as soon as the system prooves to be reliable. Please report suspiciant members in the future with the help of this button and help to keep GLOBO spam free. Very well done. Already the protection and response system in place works very well. As you know, I have suffered a bit from this but suffering is too strong a word because you have dealt with it so promptly. I hope this improvement saves you trouble.
