San Francisco: You'll want to live here!

  18 votes
I can understand why people who come to San Francisco leave completely smitten. Most end up returning, or aspire to look for a job and a place to live. A world of the man-made and the natural--this city is refreshingly multitalented.

Ever San Francisco neighborhood has a different personality, so a weeks time would be perfect to get to know each and every aspect of the city. Try to spend some time navigating. An orientation tour can be helpful at first and the first day is perfect for going to touristy places like Fisherman's Wharf, but after you have navigated the big three: Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge. Relax! Enjoy the subtle things about San Francisco--great food, wine, the passion for the arts. My boyfriend and I spent a lot of time investigating art places of interest, found random resturants and tasted the city life.

Favourite spots:
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
Japanese Tea Garden. Beautiful landscape with ponds, waterfalls, stone bridges, japanese sculptures. It's a balanced little place in a big city. Rumor has it march is best for when the Cherry Blossoms. Sitting with your honey can be really nice and calming after the whirl of the city. San Francisco Museum of Modern Art- I'm not an extreme art aficianado but the museum itself is a work of art which floods into floors of picasso, o'keefe, and pollock. I really enjoyed sitting in the cafe after viewing the art, and just musing over artists abroad. Conservatory of Flowers- Just a very peaceful place. The gardens outside of the conservatory are planted seasonally, and fashioned to look like various things--I found a picture online where it looked like the golden gate bridge.

What's really great:
Victorians in Pacific Heighs

Pacific Heights Walking Tour. Walking with my honey through the streets learning about earthquakes, fortunes and fame was a lot more fun then I at first predicted. I had my go san francisco card and a free day so i took a chance on it and it was actually really nice. The tour took us out for two hours which went by quickly as the tour guide shared stories.

Sights:
Trendy upscale neighborhood with wonderful Victorian and Queen Anne architecture. Union Street has wonderful shops and restaurants. Green streeet has wonderful homes and breathtaking views of the bay. Very pricey but very pretty and definately worth walking around and exploring.

Accommodations:

We stayed at the Pan Pacific Hotel on a deal we got through Orbitz. It was a lovely place with asian touches, flower arrangements, Asian Block print designs and a complimentary luxury car fleet which will take you to nearby locations.

Restaurants:
We had a wonderful anniversary meal at Palio D' Asti which has a fabulous wine bar but even better food. It's a taste of italy in san francisco. The service was friendly, flawless and prompt and the sauces are to die for. :D
