Leon - Nicaragua, León Plantains are found throughout Nicaragua. They are a staple of the diet, served at every meal. We had them fried, made into 6 inch long chips, and the most common, Tostones - cut into 2 inch pieces, smashed from the top, and quick pan fried. You were never more than 1/2 block from an opportunity to buy a banana!
