Ayuthaya - Thailand, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya The Burmese ransacked much of Authaya. Many of the former temples had the heads of the Buddas removed because the top knots contained small piece chunks of gold as a gift to the Budda. This Budda head was somehow flung into brush and later a tree grew up around it, lifting it about 2 feet off the ground and binding it in the tree's roots.
