I have backpacked down a couple of times and also hiked and sent equip down on horses which the Native American will rent to you eirekay - Sep, 01 2007 01:09pm The Canyon is in layers. Once you descend the first layer, you can't see the top any more, and after the second layer, neither side. You have the sense of being swallowed in it at times.
