One last deep breath before the Half Dome Cables!'s by eirekay

Yosemite National Park - United States, California Your first full look at the cables can drop your stomach to your feet. That is our group, "Babes in the Woods", in the green shirts. We took one last deep breath before heading up. Of the 19 of us, 18 attempted the cables and 13 made it the whole way.

Half Dome is so named because from the front, it has been cracked and sliced to a sheer face. The trail to this point is 7.8 miles and steep uphill. If you get there early in the day, before noon, this part can be done in 15-30 minutes. Later in the day it can take 30-40 because there are so many people using the cables.
