The frieze surrounding the base of this temple consists of an ongoing series of walking Buddha. The walking Buddhas are meant to symbolize Buddha's presence on earth, amongst men. Built in 1340 to house the relics of Buddha brought back from Celyon, the temple has four Khmer style spires and the trim is Sri lankan influenced.
