A Morning Trek Along Terraced Paddy Fields, Ubud's by el2995

Ubud - Indonesia, Bali We arranged a guided two-hour trek through our hotel that meandered down a canyon and along one of the local rivers, then through terraced rice paddies and crop fields, then finally up the far side of the canyon and through a quaint village on the outskirts of Ubud. It made for a very enjoyable hike, though hiking shoes or supportive walking shoes would have been better than the open sandals I was wearing (my feet did get a bit wet and a little muddy), and when walking along the terraced paddies it's sometimes hard to tell what is the solid earthen edge of the terrace wall and what is merely a thick cantilever of thick wild grasses and vegetation.
