information about cambodia  Siem ReapCambodia, Si«m Réab
I saw this interesting little hamlet of rustic stilted thatched huts with tin rooves across the Stung Siem Reap (River) near the intersection of Sivatha Street and Pokambor Avenue, not for from Psar Chaa Market. I walked over to check it out and learned that it was a squatters' village, with some of the residence being maimed and having lost limbs in landmine accidents. I would end up emptying my pockets of what money I had to help at least four of them. It was a sobering experience that I recount in my Travel Log entry: Dec 15, 2011 12:00 AM Poverty and Hardship in Siem Reap (2009).
