A Wild Boar at Bako National Park's by el2995

Bako National Park - Malaysia A wild boar seen near some houses not far from the park headquarters at Bako National Park. The wild boars were quite mellow, not aggressive like the wild boars you find in the hills southeast of San Jose, California. My most memorable run-in with a California wild boar was actually a 'run-into', as I hit and killed a wild boar on a mountain road still withing the city limits of San Jose as I left work late one night. The plant, which manufactured solid rocket motors for the US military and NASA, is on about 5,000 acres in a fairly isolated valley accessed via a winding road, and given the isolation has a lot of wildlife (boars, bobcats, mountain lions, coyote, deer and some transplanted Tule elk) wandering on and around the plant. I saw the sizeable boar as I rounded a curve, and could not stop in time (luckly the boar was thrown forward and not through my windshield.) A 1st-shift plant machinist would collect the boar (which dressed out to 210lb) the next day to make sausage.
