Siem Reap - Cambodia, Si«m Réab Sunrise over Angkor Wat is an experience not to be missed. You arrive at the West Gate of the temple before 5:00 am and pass through the structure under the confined illumination of a single flashlight, whose searching beam casts an eerie path of hazy gloom and dancing shadows down the stone hallway that intersect your path, then step out to the end of the elevated walkway that leads to the unseen temple somewhere in the darkness of pre-dawn beneath the field of stars that fades to gloom near the horizon, as the distant chant of monks can be heard over the croaking chorus of myriad frogs. As a faint gloom slowly emerges in the east to reveal a vague hint of the temple ahead, you walk down the path whose length is hinted by the thin dancing cones of reflected light beams in the distance to the sounds of murmured conversation and the muted hiss and slap of sandals on stone. By the time you reach the reflecting pond, the temple is silhouetted in oranges and yellows as sunrise approaches.
