Malacca Town - Malaysia, Melaka Near the base of Bukit St. Paul and the hilltop St. Paul's Church sits the remains of the Portuguese A'Famosa Fort. Together with the nearby remains of St. Paul's Church, Christ Church, The Stadhuys, and other examples of Dutch architecture, A'Famosa Porta is just another of the many attractions that draws visitors to the historic port city of Malacca. Overlooking the Strait of Malacca, the city can be visited from Singapore via a four-hour bus ride; as a good chunk of one's day will be spent on the bus, in the termonal and in the immigration check point, a three-day trip would be best to allow for exploing the city and sampling some of the sights (rubber plantations, oil palm plantations, Chinese and Malay fishing villages) beyond the city, in addition to the rich assortment of Peranakan cuisine.
