Big Sur - United States, California Taken at Point Lobos State Reserve, which is the northmost park along the Big Sur coastal region near the town of Carmel. The park is popular for its scenic coastal and inland trails, from which you can see whales migrating (at the right time of year and with some good binoculars) and also visit the nursing grounds of the local harbor seals. Note that paying the USD $10 fee at the gate to Point Lobos SR allows you to also enter most of the other state parks in the Big Sur coastal region (such as Pfieffer Big Sur State Park), but a seprate fee will need to be paid for some of the other parks, especially the state beaches.
