Need 'Help' in backpacking from Rome to Paris

We are planning to go for roughly 2 weeks (I'm thinking Rome 3 days, Milan 2 days, Paris 5 days) Probably we'll go by train and stay at a hostel. We need as much as possible advices and recomandations. Suggestions on how should I plan? Where is "Must" go? Where to stay? And the transportations.... Thanks a lot Backpackers !
