Have you tried xxx (comment by andy: I have deleted this URL, since the company is a competitor for hostel bookings on the web) ? You can check out the availability for the times you want, I've booked dorm rooms with them in Paris and Amsterdam and I wasn't disappointed.

Hello Dghero, Kathmandukitten,

you can book hostels up front on GLOBOsapiens. In fact we do have hostels listed from all over the world. You even do not have to pay the whole hostel bill up front, but only 10% of it. This will secure the reservation, rest is payed after you check into the hostel. If you do not show up at the place you only loose the 10% deposit.

You can find hostels from all over the world inside our orange business area, or directly here:

Regards,

Andy

If you're looking for a specific place to stay in Sorrento, I can recommend Le Sirene Youth Hostel (address: Via degli Aranci 160) -- I stayed there a few years ago, and things can change, but it had a good central location, easy walking distance to everything, and the price was right... on their web site they say prices begin at 16 euro a night these days, and I suspect that includes a small breakfast. I remember an absolutely delicious deli right next door, very convenient for cheap quick meals. When I stayed there, I made easy day trips to Pompeii (on the train) and Positano (on the bus) -- both recommended.

Enjoy sunny, citrus-filled Sorrento!

Liz

Competitor, sorry didn't know.

Is this some contract you have with them now? That we can't share tips and information on certain sites?

What other sites are we not allowed to talk about?

Hello Rebekah,

well of course you can talk about other sites. This is what GLOBO is for... exchanging travel info. I deleted the link in this case since we do have the same suplier, so it does not make much sense pointing to the other site. All those hostels can be booked on GLOBOsapiens as well.

It was just a bit strange to me that dghero did not find this on GLOBO and you as a senior member did not know about it as well. Maybe I should mention it in the next newsletter? I booked hostels on GLOBO as well, and it is a great way to secure your bed, especially if you are ariving late in a new city.

Hope this helps,

Andy

To be honest i haven't looked at the hostel/ tour operators bit yet, i'm quite lucky in getting free accomodation in places and only occasionally need to book somewhere in advance.. if it's that extensive then i shall look no further next time!! Thanks for the tip!
