The little natural Harbour of Gjogv
In Faroese gjogv means cleft and it is not difficult to see how Gjogv gets its name. The deep cleft is its anchorage, although the whims of the Atlantic frequently mean that boats have to be brought up well above water level.

Although far from being a tourist trap, Gjogv is possibly the village most frequented by tourists and has a hostel as well as a cafe and shop combined.
