Sunshine at Kirkjubøur
Streymoy is the largest of the Faroe Islands.
It includes the main port and capital of the islands, Torshavn and the 'religious capital' of Kirkjubour. In the south-east are two large fjords, Kollefjordur and Kaldbakfjordur.

Furthe north the island has spectacular scenery at Tjornuvik, Haldarsvik, Saksun and, farther west Vestmanna,, with superb bird cliffs.

Streymoy is connected to Eysturoy by 'the bridge over the Atlantic' - sounds grand but is one of the few underwhelming sights of the islands. it is connected with the airport island of Vagar by undersea (toll) tunnel and with Hestur, Sandoy, Nolsoy and Suðuroy by ferry.
