Kökar is an island among the Åland Islands about half way to the Finnish mainland. It has more striking natural rock scenery than many of the islands and makes a great stop, if you are using the island ferries. These are free to pedestrians and to motorists who stay on one of the smaller islands, like this one.
Anton's Gasthem is about 2km from the ferry quay and there are are fine short walks from there, both for the natural scenery and the atmospheric little church with separate belltower. Just next to the churchyard are the remains of an old Franciscan chapel. [edit text][editors]
