Best music venue in Lijiang?

About the best live music venue in Lijiang, Water Nymph cafe and bar. located in the old town of Lijiang in Yunnan, China on 100 year old street beside a canal

I'm kinda lucky living in the old town of Lijiang. My house is located between an Irish bar and live music cafe. A couple of minutes walk either direction and I get to either the student-like interior of the least Irish bar in the world; or to a glass-fronted restaurant and bar where each and every night, music plays.

While Sexy Tractor bar attracts mainly foreigners staying at the budget Mama Naxis guesthouses, Water Nymph Bar - or Zai Shui Yi Fang in Chinese - pulls in a mix of folk from around town, all over China, and all over the world.

I've just finished work on their website - you can see it at www.water-nymph.com - and there's even text in Chinese and Korean (thanks to Renae, a student here who is a native Chinese speaker and is learning Korean).

Favourite spots:

Water Nymph cafe and bar
the old Sexy Tractor bar - Irish and Naxi
Sakura restaurant for breakfast and lunch
Prague cafe for vegetable curry
Lamus house of Tibet for the outside seating area

What's really great:

the ambience, the pleasant music, the low volume so you can talk, the good food and drinks, the friendly staff, the light and airy building, the fire, the people-watching opportunities
