Praia is a small, yet in some ways big, city... and it is rapidly growing. With growth comes good characteristics as well as bad; and Praia has taken both. There is a lot to do -- art and music shows, beaches, movies, shopping, etc. It is literally the center of Cape Verdean life. However, the crime rate has increased immensely in the past year alone, especially towards foreigners.

I live here, and I'm not a big fan of it...however, I enjoy the diversity of entertainment that can be found here...and you're just a few minutes/hours away from the interior of the island...
