Ceillac is a small village in the Queyras area of Hautes Alpes. There is now a ski-centre above the village but it seems to remain pretty separate and, other than the fact that now most roofs are of corrugated iron, the village itself is hardly changed over the last couple of hundred years. This was particularly apparent one evening in May with a thunder storm clearly threatening. The village was fenced off to traffic as hundreds [literally] of sheep were kept inside.
Sometimes the roads may be blocked by senior citizens playing boules.
Just outside the village are two camp sites, set among larches and a lovely waterfall with a Logis de France opposite.
The Spring flowers are outstanding. [edit text][editors]
