Albi travel tips

Musée Toulouse-Lautrec 
The Toulouse-Lautrec Museum at Albi, his home town, owns a terrific collection of his works, including many posters. Many of the works have been given by his family. The building itself is very interesting, called a palace but more of a fortress, close to the cathedral. At the time of writing, April 2006, the museum is still undergoing restoration. It is open but different parts are on view at different stages of the work. Hence it is important to look at the website first if you want to see particular works. more

Tournesol 
French cuisine hardly needs a plug from me but outside the big cities a vegetarian can have problems unless they have a passion fo omelettes. Le Tournesol in Albi is a fine exception to this and has the merit of being close to the centre. All the food is vegetarian with vegan options and is varied and very tasty. more
