Orlu is in the Ariège Department of the French Pyrenees. It's only a small village but quite idyllic. In summer most of the nearest peaks are free of snow but the Dent d'Orlu is a spectacular site - no prizes for guessing its shape.
There's a Gite de France in the village and an excellent camping and caravan site.
Tracks go up into the higher mountains and just before you get to the village, there are lovely meadows to your right where you can shelter in the shade of the forest beyond during the heat of the sun.
The road to Orlu is a small left turn from the highway from Aix d'Ariège to Andorra and htere is a petrol station just beyond the Andorra frontier, that allows you to do your touring fairly cheaply in a car. [edit text][editors]
