Saint-Veran is in the Queyras area, an area known for a great micro-climate [though, beware if camping in June - it's really cold at night.]

The area is very close to the Italian border. Marmots and gentians abound and there are plentiful fine walks of all levels. The villages of the Queyras area are noted for their fine sundials.

Entry to the Queyras is either east from Giullestre or south from Briançon. [edit text]  [editors]
