The two small Bavarian towns of Anger and Aufham together with the nearby small holdings and farms on the hill "Högl" and others nearby make up one community.
This area was already occupied in the Stone Age so it has a long history with activity through the Roman Empire and Middle Ages. King Ludwig II, who built the famous German castles, is known to have said that "Anger is the prettiest village in Bavaria!"
The nearby mountain "Hochstaufen" is one of the most climbed in the region of Berchtesgadener Land and in all Germany. There are countless guesthouses and guest-farms nearby.
