Bonner Münster
Built in the 11th century with several additions and changes over the centuries and restored after the bombing of WWII the cathedral combines Gothic and Romanesque stylistic elements. It is a basilica with three vaults. The interior decorated Baroque elements are predominant. Walking through the quiet cloisters you don’t hear the noise of town in which centre the cathedral is situated. more
Rheinisches Landesmuseum

The museum shows the cultural history of the region between Aachen and Essen, Kleve and Bonn from 40 000 AD til today. A beautiful, quiet museum, where you also can eat at reasonable prices. From the top you have a view over Bonn. more
Frauenmuseum
Opening Hours: Tuesday - Saturday: 14.00-18.00, Sunday: 11.00-18.00, Entrancefee: Adults 2.50 Euro, Children: 1.50 Euro; situated in the old part of town.
It represents female artists, mainly temporary art, and scientists. There are theater and cabaret oerformances, concerts, readings, and lectures. It has a museumshop. a beer garden and a restaurant. more

Museum Koenig
Open: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 bis 18:00, Wednesday until 21:00. Since 1945 it is a zoological research institute and museum of the Leibniz community with roughly 7 million specimens, founded by ornithologist and university professor Alexander Koenig (1858–1940), native of Bonn. Permanent exhibition: "Our Blue Planet - Life in a Network", to show the way life in vast areas is functioning. 1948, Sept 1rst: Convention of the Parliamentary Council of the FRG to establish the Basic Law, also Chancellor Adenauer's first working place, until 1957 those of several Ministries. 1949, May 23rd the Basic Law was public announced. Alter Friedhof (Old Cemetery)
Opening Hours: 8.00-17.00, no entrance fee.
The cemetery is situated in the midst of town, near the railroad station.
Re-arranged in the 19th century according to the principles of the "jardin parlant", the garden gives the visitor a great sense of harmony between nature and tombs, burried here are i.e. C. and R. Schumann, E.M.Arndt, Beethoven's mother, M.-M. van Beethoven. more

The Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland is a museum of the German contemporary history from 1945 to the present. It also has special and travelling exhibition. It also houses and an information centre. It is very good, lively, and informative. You not only see history but also hear it. In the cellar you find Adenauer's train and excavations of Roman times. more

Phoenix Reisen
