This is an appealing little town. The city council has returned much of the lovely town center to it's past charm. On weekends you can visit the town square to enjoy its festive market, there’s a bakery to die for, a good restaurant and shops for clothes, books and so much more.
Senftenberg also has a park with a children’s zoo, and a town museum containing dioramas going back before Roman times. And there are festivals all during the year.
Known by vacationing Germans as a spa town because of Senftenberg’s large lake just at the town’s outskirts. One can take the path around it by foot or bicyle. On the path, one can find a gourmet restaurant and a resort hotel you will just love.
Senftenberg is located between Liepzig and Dresden. Visiting either city is only a day trip drive.
