Right in the heart of Germany at the northern edge of Thuringia you'll find Nordhausen. The ancient town (first mentioned in 972 AD) has a rich mediaval and industrial history. Also you can start a tour to the Harz from here, riding the historic steam railway (Harzquerbahn) through the fairy tale forrests up to the Blocksberg (Mt.
