There are two reasons to come to Princes Town: the unusual German fort; and the perfect beach. Princes Town itself does not offer anything else of interest other than a local Ghanaian fishermen community, which is welcoming and infrequently visited by tourists. The German fort on the hill overlooking the town looks like a typical German farmhouse and not as a fort, only the outer walls and the dungeons stimulate imagination and make it believable that this stronghold might have actually also been used for the notorious slave trade. The fort is now a guesthouse used by school groups. If one wanted to stay there, it would be a good value. The beach down in the town is perfect - palmtrees, no-one to bother you, golden sand...
